Culdaff Climbfest

This site will house the Climbfest stuff that is on the Colmcille website but might be harder to find there. We'll have annotated topo photos, for example, and other information as I find it and find time to upload it.

Culdaff Climbfest 2009 - Féile Dhreapadóireachta Chúl Dabhcha 2009

Climbfest 2009 will be on 2nd, 3rd and 4th May 2009.
There will be a mess tent and a barbeque will be provided though you must bring your own grub.

The second Culdaff Climbfest took place on 28th April to 1st May 2006. Logbook Reports of the Climbfest

The 2008 Climbfest took place on 4th, 5th and 6th of May 2008.

As usual the meeting place will be McGrorys (excellent food, music and Guinness), and free camping is available at Bunagee, behind the pier. There are several hundred single pitch routes, mainly in the middle grades, at Dunmore Head, Dunowen, Kinnego Bay, Galavoir, Warm Bay Point, Malin Head and Port a Doris, most of which are convenient to the road. There is also excellent bouldering at Dunaff.

Bring your bucket, spade and surf board, as this little known and most northerly part of Ireland has fine "Blue Flag" beaches and good surf. Bring the kids, why not? Colmcille Climbers will be on hand to guide you to and tell you about the crags. Last year we had 100+ participants, and hope to build on that in 2009, making this an annual event, and the natural place to kick off your year's activities on the rock.
